Ways to Become a CIS

  • Minimum Qualification Required
    Applicants should have a sound understanding of the fundamentals of money and business and have completed a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university/ institution in Business/ Accounting/ Finance/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ or in any other discipline that connects with the crypto-currency and blockchain space.

    Minimum Work Experience
    Ideal applicants under this track would have an exposure of 4 years or more to personal wealth management, stock-trading and portfolio management, and/ or marketing of investment, insurance and banking products, with proficiency in working through computer and web-based tools and software commonly used in finance and accounting today.

  • Minimum Qualification Required
    Applicants under this track would have a sound understanding of the basics of blockchain, money and business. They should have completed a Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Business/ Accounting/ Finance/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ or in any other discipline related to the crypto-currency and blockchain space.

    Minimum Work Experience
    Ideal applicants under this track would have an exposure of 1 year or more to personal wealth management, stock-trading and portfolio management, and/ or marketing of investment, insurance and banking products, with proficiency in working through computer and web-based tools and software commonly used in finance and accounting today.

  • Minimum Qualification Required
    Applicants under this track have to be students of a Master’s Degree program in - or alumni of - any of the CBCA-recognized institutions with a major in Business/ Accounting/ Finance/ Computer Science/ Information Technology/ or in any other discipline that connects with the crypto-currency and blockchain space.

    Minimum Work Experience
    Though work experience is not mandatory under this track, applicants are expected to have a very sound theoretical exposure to how professionals trade or deal in crypto-currencies and stocks, or market financial products in real life. They should also aware of computer and web-based tools commonly used in finance and accounting today.

  • Minimum Qualification Required
    There is no prescribed formal qualification for this track, as it is for entrepreneurial and self-taught professionals who now desire to build a more solid, formal and wider base of knowledge and skills to prepare themselves better for more exciting and challenging opportunities in the emerging blockchain-based finance industry.

    Minimum Work Experience
    Ideal applicants are currently dealing in crypto-currencies, with a solid past-experience in marketing and sales of investment, insurance and wealth management products for 7 years or more in team-based environments.   • Check Eligibility Requirements

    All CBCA certifications mandate you to meet certain educational and work experience requirements to become eligible. The requirements for each CBCA certification is unique, so before proceeding, check if you satisfy the minimum eligibility requirements for the CIS Certification, you wish to apply for. It is recommended that you keep this information handy as it will be required while filling up your online pre-registration application.

  • Fill Online Pre-Registration Application

    Once you have satisfied the CIS eligibility requirements, it is time to pre-register. Start the pre-registration process by creating your myCBCA account. Before proceeding, check if you QualiFLY for CIS Certification. QualiFLY essentially relaxes the minimum eligibility requirements, based on your education and work experience. Complete the CIS online pre-registration application form. Once you have submitted the online pre-registration application and made a successful payment of the fee, you will immediately receive an acknowledgement response email with instructions for the next steps.

  • Validation

    An internal check is conducted to validate your credentials against the prescribed candidacy prerequisites for earning the CIS Certification.

  • CIS Certification Preparation Material

    The CIS Learning Deck is shipped to the applicant’s registered address after the registration/ pre-registration is complete and the fee has been paid. Those who have pre-registered need not register again, and if they have paid their fee, their Study Kits will start shipping from August 6, 2018.

  • Taking the CIS Certification Exam

    All CIS registrants go through an immersion period to help them orient completely and build their conceptual foundations in Blockchain Technology. You can schedule your CIS exam any time after November 15, 2018, once this immersion period is over. In fact, you also get an additional 135-days to plan for and take your CIS exam.

  • Award

    If you qualify the CIS certification exam and meet other conditions laid down by the CBCA Professional Certifications Board (CPCB), you are recommended for the award of CIS Credential and the CIS Digital Badge is immediately issued to you. You can expect the shipment of the physical credential pack to reach you within 3 to 4 weeks from the date of the credential- award.
